How we give back to the community that we serve

1. -Provide Oxygen free of charge to the Montgomery Area School District, Nurse’s Offices
2. -Provide Oxygen free of charge to the Lycoming County Landfill Safety Team

3. -Provide Oxygen free of charge to the Construction Specialties Safety Team
4. -Provide Oxygen free of charge to Washington Twp. Vol. Fire Co. QRS unit
5. -Offer free safety inspections to homeowners and help them to develop escape plans
6. -Provide CPR, AED, and First Aid training for the school district coaches and support staff
7. -Provide and install free smoke detectors to any resident that cannot afford one
8. -Provide a location to the Red Cross free of charge for local Blood Drives
9. -Deliver Christmas “Care” packages to residents of Clinton Twp. for the committee and we give a generous donation each year to support the program
10. -Provide first aid kits, training and supplies for Montgomery AYSO soccer and their board uses the building for sign-ups, board meetings, and to store files and paperwork.
11. -Little League uses the building free of charge for sign ups and other events. We also sponsor a team each year and donate towards to upkeep of the Clinton Twp. Field.
12. -Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts all use the building at various times throughout the year for a variety of purposes
13. -High School Students use the building free of charge, for fundraisers
14. -Various groups use the building for fundraising events free of charge, i.e. car washes and bake sales.
15. -Montgomery Elementary Wrestling uses the building for awards banquets
16. -Citizens use the building free of charge for funeral wakes
17. -The fire station is a designated evacuation center for the school district in the event of a fire, bomb threat, or other emergency at the school building.
18. -The building is used for a latch-key program for children during snow cancellation days.
19. -We provide wheelchair van trips to people in the community that otherwise have no means of transport to and from appointments without charge.
20. -We replace lights, flags, and retrieve cats from high places with the Tower truck.
21. -We respond during storms to stand in any kind of weather to protect the community from hazards such as wires down in the roadway. This is NOT a function of the fire department, but we do it when requested. We clear downed trees from the roads and people’s property when needed. This also is NOT a function of the fire department. Trees in the roadway are the responsibility of the State or Municipal government.
22. -We remove storm water from roadways when drains are clogged and we pump basements after storms.
